Merry Christmas - December 25, 2010

Merry Christmas! I hope that you all have a blessed day. Right now I am sitting by the fire at home, enjoying the company of my family, and fixing to head over to my Grandma's house for a Christmas feast. It is such a blessing to be able to come home from Nashville to a great family who I am so thankful for each and everyday.

It is easy to forget the true meaning of Christmas among the holiday craze, but as I sit peacefully by the fire I thank God for the gift he bestowed upon us this day 2000 years ago. A baby was born in a manager, who ended up saving us of all of our sins. This is the greatest gift of all!

My parents are calling me out the door, but before I leave, I ask that you listen to my song "His Day Has Come". It is a Christmas song that I wrote a year ago for my church's Christmas Eve service. I hope that it reminds of you of the real reason for the season!

God Bless and Merry Christmas,

Chels

It's Almost Thanksgiving - November 8, 2010

Happy November to everyone, hope this month is treating you well so far! I am writing from my dorm room here at Belmont University, and continually remember how blessed I am to be in a city such as Nashville. It has been nearly 3 months since I have moved here, and it has been the most exciting months of my life. Thanksgiving break is coming up soon, and then Christmas, so I will be back home for a little while. I am going to the recording studio over the break, and hope to have some new tunes up for everyone to listen to.

Just want to make a shout out to all of the people back home who have been supporting me on my journey--CSUMC Nurture Team, my family, and friends. It is such a blessing to have a strong support group back home and know that they are praying for me. A big thank you to my mom and sister, who surprised me on my birthday about a week ago! It was so amazing to get to see them, and explore Nashville together! I could not be more thankful for the family that I have.

Anyways, start turning on your Christmas music cause its not too far away, and check out my song "His Day Has Come" to get you in the Christmas spirit. I hope you all are on the nice list this year!

God Bless,

Music City - September 23, 2010

Hey everyone,

Just keeping you all updated on what has been going on in my life lately. School is keeping me pretty busy, but I am still finding time to go to seminars, Songposium, write new material, and collaborate with some great people. I am loving every minute of being here. I can't believe it has been over a month now since I have been living here in Nashville! God has blessed me with a strong group of friends in and out of Belmont, which makes it that much easier being away from home.

My EP "Find the True Meaning" is now on iTunes, Amazon.com, and CDBaby, but you can listen to many of the songs here on the site. Don't forget to please sign the Guestbook, I would like to know you took the time to stop by and listen. I hope everyone has a great week!

God Bless,

My New Home - August 30, 2010

Hey everyone,

I am just settling in at Belmont University in Nashville. Classes started on Wednesday, and lots of fun activities are coming up. It hasn't been an easy week being 13 hours away from family, but everyday is getting better and better. Even though the week has been jam packed, I still have found time to collaborate on some songs, write some songs of my own, and meet some awesome people. This is Music City, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me. My new EP "Find the True Meaning" should be coming out soon, everything is finished in the recording studio. You can find a couple of the songs on my website, one of them is "Cupid". Well its off to classes this morning, I hope everyone has a blessed week.

God Bless,

Just wanted to fill everyone in on some new music that I am writing. I have written a couple more new songs and hopefully will be going to the recording studio soon, so that I can get them up on the site. Graduation is coming up quickly, and that means that leaving for Belmont in the fall is coming closer and closer. The last few weeks have been crazy with softball, concerts, and banquets, and the next few weeks will be filled with last minute graduation and senior events. I have still been writing songs, and will hopefully have a few new ones up for everyone to listen to not too long from now. I appreciate everyone for coming to the site and listening to my songs, and I hope that all of you have a blessed week!

Belmont University Songwriting Program - December 4, 2009

I received my acceptance letter from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. I applied to their songwriting degree program and got accepted!!! I am so excited about going to Belmont and pursuing my dream of becoming a professional songwriter. I love writing songs and this great opportunity will enable me to better my songwriting skills while also learning about the music business. I will also have an opportunity to intern with a music company. I am looking forward to next year and living in Nashville and starting the journey of a career in songwriting.

Texas CSA Radio Show - November 3, 2009

Texas Christian Songwriters Association started a Radio Show November 1st and my song "All I Need" has been played several times. I am also a featured artist this month with an on-air interview. The link is http://www.live365.com/stations/texascsa?site=pro.

Meeting with Record Producer - September 25, 2009

I am going to San Francisco, CA, to meet with a record producer from October 22-25. I am very excited about this opportunity and hope it will develop into the beginning of an arrangement to work together to produce an album in June 2010. He has worked with Barbara Streisand, Mick Jagger, and Sammy Hagar, just to name a few! It will be a great experience, keep my mom and I in your thoughts and prayers as we travel and make important decisions for the future.

2 new songs - August 30, 2009

I have two new songs "Lonely Road" and "Childhood Memories". I have 4 songs I have written and need to record. I am going to the recording studio on Wednesday. I worked on the songs I am singing at a wedding on September 12th. I will sing "Endless Love" during the wedding and "Amazed" and "God Bless the Broken Road" before the wedding starts. I am excited to sing at my first wedding.

Garage Band/Keyboard - August 19, 2009

I bought a new Macbook so I can learn GarageBand. I also purchased a keyboard so I can arrange my songs on the computer.  I used the money I saved from working last summer and babysitting this summer.  It was a great investment because it will help me learn how to record demos and be able to practice more without disturbing everyone by using my new headphones).  Sometimes I like to practice early in the morning when everyone is still asleep so I can now do this without everyone saying "Be Quiet, Get off the piano!" (everyone except my mom, she loves it when I practice and compose new songs!!!)

Back from Immerse - August 3, 2009

Just got back yesterday from Nasvhille. The Immerse conference was amazing. I got to meet some really big songwriters and they really inspired me to keep on doing what I do! I came back with a lot of great advice! Immerse was held on Belmont University, and it was BEAUTIFUL. I definitely know that is where I want to go! Just wanted to keep everyone updated on how things went.

God Bless,
